Welcome to UFCWLocal152.org!

In this new website, you'll find useful documents such as membership applications and change of address forms, information about the charities the union supports, staff contacts and much, much more.

We created this website to help our members receive the great service, benefits and representation they expect from a great union. We also want our members to be informed about the latest developments that affect their union, their jobs and the aspirations of working people everywhere.

UFCW Local 152 is committed to protecting the rights and improving the lives of our members. In 2007 alone, our union reps handled 662 grievances and restored more than $2.2 million in back pay and benefits to our members. During that year we also negotiated many excellent contracts that included enhanced wages and benefits.

Another important task for our union is organizing. To remain strong, we must bring more workers in more industries under the union umbrella. We will continue our organizing efforts to bring as many new members as we can into our union.

It is also our responsibility to educate the community about Wal-Mart and other non-union retailers that threaten living standards everywhere. Working closely with our partners in the communities we serve and our brothers and sisters throughout the labor movement, we will continue to fight the construction of new Wal-Marts and push that company to respect the human rights of its employees.

Electing friends of working people to political office is another important priority for our union. Once they are elected, we work with them to pass pro-worker laws at the local, state and national levels. In the past, we have vigorously supported the Employee Free Choice Act in Congress and we will continue to push for legislation that benefits working people.

You, the members of UFCW Local 152, are the key to our success in all of these endeavors. When you become active in your union, you make us stronger and more effective in protecting your rights and enhancing your standard of living.

Please attend union meetings and volunteer for informational picketing and political demonstrations. Become a steward. And visit this website regularly to stay informed and help make your union be the best it can be.

Sincerely,

Brian String
President
