UCFW Women's Network Volunteers Come Through

The UFCW Local 152 Women's Network would like to thank everyone who participated in the Teddy Bear Drive. The drive was a great success. We collected 280 teddy bears and handed them out on December 4th at The Arc's Christmas Party.



The UFCW Local 152 Women's Network would also like to thank those individuals that donated Cell Phones for the Troops. We collected 62 cell phones along with some additional accessories. Thanks again.

UFCW Women's Network Teddy Bear Drive

The UFCW Local 152 Women's Network will be hosting a "Teddy Bear Drive" for The Arc (formerly known as the Association for Retarded Citizens). The new teddy bears/stuffed animals can be dropped off at the UFCW Local 152 Union Office, One White Horse Centre, 3rd Floor, Hammonton, New Jersey 08037. The deadline for drop off is Monday, November 30, 2009.

Cell Phones for the Troops

Donate old cell phones to our troops. Proceeds from the donated cell phones are used to purchase prepaid calling cards for our troops to call their loved ones. The donated cell phones can be dropped off at the UFCW Local 152 Union Office, One White Horse Centre, 3rd Floor, Hammonton, New Jersey 08037. The deadline for drop off is Monday, November 23, 2009. UFCW Local 152 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Avalon Golf Club. The golf club is located at 1510 Route 9 North, Swainton, NJ 08210. All proceeds to benefit the Leukemia Society of America, The Bryan D. Ross Foundation and various other charities.

UFCW's Women's Network Operation Backpack

The Women's Network is collecting back packs and school supplies for the upcoming school year for the students in the Delaware Valley who are in danger of becoming homeless or who are already living in a shelter. Operation Backpack relieves the children's families of a significant financial burden and helps them begin the school year with a brand new backpack. Deadline date is August 24, 2009.

DENTAL PROVIDER CHANGE FOR
UFCW LOCAL 152 HEALTH & WELFARE FUND PARTICIPANTS

We are pleased to inform you that effective January 1, 2009 the Board of Trustees have engaged Delta Dental to be the new Dental Plan for the UFCW Local 152 Health and Welfare Fund. Delta Dental is a nationally recognized dental benefits administrator and provides access to the largest dental network in the Country.

In the near future, you will receive a complete package of information containing details of your new Delta Dental program. You will also receive two identification cards directly from Delta Dental.

In reference to work in progress, please note that procedures that are begun (opened or prepared) - such as crowns, root canals, dentures and bridgework - prior to January 1, 2009, will be covered under your current dental plan. Delta Dental will assume responsibility for procedures begun after January 1, 2009.

If you would like to know if your dentist is a Delta Dental provider, visit Delta Dental's website - www.deltadentalins.com - and click on "Find a Dentist" on the home page and follow the instructions. If your dentist is not in the Delta Dental network, you may wish to recommend that he/she join Delta Dental. You will soon receive a package of information containing a "Recommend your dentist to Delta Dental membership" form. Complete the form; send it to Delta Dental and Delta Dental will contact your dentist to provide details of the program. You can also find this form on Delta Dental's website.

As stated previously, a complete package of information will be sent to you within the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the transition to Delta Dental, please contact the Fund office at 800-555-4959 or 856-793-1598.
